CEDAR ISLAND HOME OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION

There has been some interest shown in getting the Association back in action.

Recently a concern was raised regarding the safety of our children and others who walk or ride around the island. A petition signed by many of the residents has been sent to the Town of Kingsville for a solution.

As an Association, we were able to address issues to enhance our services on the island (streetlights, paved roads etc) when an individual homeowner might not be heard. For example, when the pump house was built, there was an agreement that the Town would be responsible for the maintenance of the property surrounding it. The Town was not living up to the agreement, but it took two years of complaints from the residents on Blvd 4 before the area was finally cleaned up.

In the past, the Association has sponsored such great activities as The Children’s Party, an Island Yard Sale, an Island Breakfast, a Dinner/Dance etc. These activities helped to create the unique community that is Cedar Island.

If you are interested in maintaining and improving the Cedar Island way of life please try to attend a meeting to initiate this.
